Who We Are

The Groundworks Collaborative Food Shelf, formerly the Brattleboro Area Drop In Center, was founded in 1988, is a non-profit day shelter offering a year-round emergency food shelf, job referrals and many other services free of charge to people in need. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. On weekends, call 802-257-2005 ext. 225 for the emergency pager.

Families and individuals of all ages in Brattleboro and 51 surrounding towns in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

The following items are always needed:

  • Pasta, sauce
  • Peanut butter
  • Soups, crackers
  • Rice
  • Canned meals
  • Canned fruits & vegetables
  • Canned protein items
  • Baby food
  • Juices
  • Cereals and other nonperishable foods
  • Personal care items
  • Feminine hygiene supplies
  • Diapers & formula
